Makk is the artistic identity of Yorkshire-based singer-songwriter David Mills-McEvoy. His music exists in the space between the intimate and the cinematic—indie folk foundations woven with experimental, lo-fi textures and ethereal atmospheres.

Makk blends indie folk with experimental production, weaving atmospheric textures, modular synth tones, and 1930s-inspired strings with raw, personal lyricism. His music balances intimacy and scale, capturing small emotional moments and expanding them into something cinematic and immersive.

On stage, Makk performs with a dynamic live band who shape the project’s distinctive sound:

Harry Stobbart – drums and percussion, grounding the songs with subtle rhythmic nuance

• David Bullock – bass and ambient textures, adding depth and warmth

• Dexter Duffy-Howard – violin, channelling jazz and folk influences through expressive, cinematic lines

• Lilla Hall—on keys and synths, shaping the ambient layers that complement the project.

Together, they create a performance that feels both intimate and expansive.
